Because my mother told me "more blog posts, please!" even though it has only been three days

Mom, when I don't blog, it either means I'm busy or nothing too exciting has happened.

The last few days have been fairly uneventful. I went to class, hung around my flat with my flatmates, enjoyed not sweating as profusely while walking to class because it's been between 60-65 F.

Yesterday the girl who spilled soda on my laptop came over and we walked to the Apple retailer to see if they would be able to take a look at my laptop. The technician wasn't there but the man at the counter told us it would be $69 for a half-hour consultation! So we decided to try to clean my keys ourselves, after I was reassured that if something were to go wrong, she would pay for it. We stopped by the pharmacy and bought some rubbing alcohol and Q-tips and went to work. We watched a few youtube videos on how to pop off the keys and read some basic information on it before we started since neither of us had ever done that before. It was really scary at first, but mostly it just became tedious after the first few keys. We were rocking out to Michael Jackson for two hours, cleaning about 20 keys. (She kept saying "it's like doing surgery.. on a BABY" because of how difficult it was to pop the keys back together. It was hilarious.) Most of the keys are working better now but the "1" and the Shift key are still acting strangely, so I don't know what I'm going to do. At least my hard drive on my computer is okay though! Which is such a relief. I don't know what I would have done if my computer was truly damaged.

Today I may or may not have not gone to class (it takes an hour to walk there and back for my ONE hour long class) but I skyped with Andrea in the morning and cleaned the kitchen! Like really cleaned the kitchen. I met up with another girl at uni and we went shopping down Queen Street. We stopped in a bunch of souvenir shops (I'm just browsing at the moment), a couple clothing stores and several dessert/gelato/chocolate shops. I bought some fudge and two cookies for $4, which was super awesome. Not to mention delicious!

I'm a little antsy to go do something tonight so I think I'm going to go walk around Parnell or something in a bit. It's weird not being at Gustavus where I have a million things to do every night and nights where I don't have planned things are rare. My weekends are busy though! This weekend I'm going to the Pasifika Festival (should be really cool, and FREE), a BBQ at Gael's house, a free all-city Museum night, my first professional rugby game, and Sunday I think I'll either be going to Piha or Waiheke provided the weather is nice. It should be a fun weekend! I just need to find more easy/cheap things to do at night during the week. My flatmates are great and I love hanging out but I just get so antsy. Maybe I'll start reading or stargazing or take pilates or something.. also not procrastinate the little homework that I do have.

cleaning my laptop keys!

we used a lot of Q-tips.
